The hospital is situated at Pala Thodupuzha Route (SH-8) near Kizhathadiyoor- Kaveekunnu road,1.7km from Pala.
Carmel Medical Centre is the brain child of the Jayamatha Province. This charitable hospital named after the mother of Carmel. The Hospital was established in September 2003 with limited facilities, primarily to serve the lower income group and the marginalized and it was blessed by H.E Mar Joseph Pallikaparambil Bishop of Pala. "Great Oaks, From Tiny Acorns Grow" As years passed the hospital achieved the significant growth, having 14 various departments at present including super specialities.
The hospital is also accredited (Entry Level) by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). Carmel Medical Centre has had significant growth during last 20 years and has now 14 flourishing departments to cater to the health care needs.
To provide yeoman service in the field of health care delivery especially to the lower income group are the marginalized has been accorded priority in the service activities of the congregation of the mother of Carmel.

We instill Gospel values in the sick to make their experiences of sickness, suffering and death redemptive and lead them to be hopeful even in the midst of sufferings.
